Avas' babies are now 3 weeks old. Time has flown with these guys. I think these 3 have turned out even nicer than the last round. Anxious to watch them mature. I am still learning but already I can pick out certain traits in the babies that help me decided their qualities. These babies are "Extremely" affectionate and I can never get enough of baby bunny kisses. They found a bell under the tree and have been very amused by ringing it. I love love love this age!
Lucy is due Saturday! First time mom but she sure acts like she knows what is up. Due to the cold we have opted to bring her in to avoid any on the wire disasters. She is very large! The largest of any of our does during pregnancy. Now watch her have 2 babies. Ha. She has been so affectionate and great. I love the temperament of Avas' babies so I know Lucy will pass this on to her offspring as well!
I had grand plans of getting lovely photos of each and every bunny by the Christmas tree with the lights blurred in the background. I brought Henry in first because he is usually so compliant. Wrong. Then Zilla... she's always a pro. Wrong again. Then I played around with the babies a bit and decided to try Fibonacci. He is a tense buck. He gets so nervous I feel guilty getting him out. But the second I put him by the tree he posed so perfect. He's got the Christmas Spirit! :) I plan on doing a montage of all of them in Christmas glory.... but that may take me some time.
This is Honey! She is our first full Ormand Doe out of Henry and Nixie. I do try not to get attached during their grow out phase and to be honest... I fail miserably. This doe craves affection and snuggles. If you put her down, she will instantly jump back onto your lap for cuddles. If you pet her on the ground she will flop down at your side and snuggle. I have found myself bringing her inside to keep me company as I work on computer projects throughout the day. Sure hope she grows out nice because I don't foresee parting with her.
